Last week we reported that OPBF Super Featherweight champion Masayuki Ito (18-1-1, 8) [伊藤 雅雪] would be defending his title against Filipino opponent Ernie Sanchez (15-7-1, 6) on July 27th. Since that report it has been revealed that the bout has actually been rearranged, and it will not take place on July 28th.
The reason given for the rescheduling is that OPBF Featherweight champion Ryo Takenaka (14-3-1, 8) [竹中 良] has taken longer to recover from an injury than expected. He was supposed to be defending his title on July 28th but due to the injury it seems the Ito Vs Sanchez bout has been moved to fill in on that show as the main event instead.
This is the third date for the bout following a date earlier this year, that was cancelled when Ito suffered a training injury.
