Tomorrow at the Korakuen Hall fans will get the chance to see an OPBF Super Featherweight title fight between the once beaten Masayuki Ito (16-1-1, 7) and Dai Iwai (17-3-1, 6). The bout really does pit two talented young men against each other in what could be a defining fight for the winner, before a possible move, down the line, into world level fights.
Today the two fighters took part in the official weigh in for that bout.
On the scales Iwai was the heavier man weighing in at 58.9KGs, just over 129¾lbs. That's comfortably inside the limit though it must be said that he looked incredible at the weight and was very ripped around the midsection. Although the heavier man it is worth noting that he was 126lbs last time out, when he stopped Noriyuki Ueno back in April.
Ito on the other hand was 58.8KGs, just over 129½lbs. This is slightly heavier than he was last time out, against Rikki Naito, but certainly not a weight that he'll have beem uncomfortably at. Ito, like Iwai, looked in great shape on the scales, though was less ripped than foes.
For fans at the Korakuen Hall they should be expecting a treat tomorrow. For those not at "The Hall", this bout will be televised on August 15th on Fuji TV as part of their Diamond Glove series of fights.
