At the end of February we were expecting to see Filipino puncher Rey Loreto (19-13, 11) rematch South African fighter Nkosinathi Joyi (24-3-0-1, 17). It was a bout that had originally been penciled in for last December then rescheduled for February.
Sadly it didn't materialise in February with the bout being cancelled almost with out warning, in fact for many it was a surprise not to see the result floating about the following day.
Now we've been told the fight was quietly rescheduled from February 28th to March 22nd.
The bout will see Loreto trying to repeat his shock win over Joyi from February last year. Amazingly Joyi has been inactive since then and will come into the ring on a 13 month break from the ring. Sadly for the South African it will be his second break of action for a year plus in recent years, with more than a spent between his two bouts with Katsunari Takayama.
Although Joyi has been on the side lines Loreto has managed to keep slightly busier with a 7th round KO of Indonesian journeyman Heri Amol last October, just to keep him ticking over. Unfortunately that's been his only fight since his shocked the former IBF Minimumweight champion and claimed the IBO Light Flyweight title with one of 2014's Upset of the Year contenders, which can be seen in full, below.
