Later this week Japanese fans will get the chance to see the popular Yu Kimura (18-2-1, 3) [木村 悠] defend his WBC Light Flyweight title agaist Mexican challenger Ganigan Lopez (26-6, 17).
Today, ahead of their bout, the two men took part in their physical checks.
The checks saw both men pass without any real issue.
Whilst both men passed their physical checks there was some significant information to take from the measurements taken at the physical.
Tellingly Lopez seems to have all the physical advantages. He's notably taller and significantly longer than Kimura, with a 5cm reach advantage. He's also a southpaw which will make that reach advantage seem even more significant.
Whilst Lopez is the bigger man Kimura is the champion and is the home fighter, two advantages that could well help him here, in what is a very tough first defense.
