This coming Monday Satoshi Hosono (32-2-1, 21) [細野 悟] will face off with Jonathan Victor Barros (40-4-1, 22) in an IBF Featherweight world title eliminator. The bout, at the Korakuen Hall, will of course have an arena packed with fight fans, and a few notable guests. One of those guests with a very personal interest in the bout will be current IBF Featherweight champion Lee Selby (23-1, 8), who will be expected to face the winner in 2017.
Several sources reported that Selby would be attending the bout and it seems like he's already enjoying the Tokyo fight scene with a lot of fans getting their picture taken with him earlier today, with the Featherweight champion in attendance for the brilliant Japanese Super Bantamweight title fight between Yasutaka Ishimoto and Gakuya Furuhashi, which certainly gave Selby a taste of the atmosphere that Korakuen Hall generates.
Although we don't imagine Selby has much of a grasp of Japanese we wouldn't be surprised to see him get in the ring later in the week, if Hosono is victorious on Wednesday, to help build some interest in the fight. Saying that however it's clear that the key to the visitor is scouting and he'll be wanting to see the winner up close before facing them.
