In February we reported that two Kadoebi houseki fighters, former Japanese Lightweight champion Yoshitaka Kato (29-5-1, 9) and current Japanese Heavyweight champion Kyotaro Fujimoto (11-1, 6) were over in the US to train at the Wildcard gym. For Fujimoto the training comes ahead of his much anticipated rematch with Nobuhiro Ishida (27-10-2, 11) at the end of April whilst Kato is said to be angling a big fight later in the year.
Although full details of the training camp haven't been released we do know that Kato has been sparring with former IBF Lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez whilst Fujimoto has been sparring with current WBA Cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev. The fact both the Japanese fighters have been able to spend time in the ring with world class fighters will have helped their development ahead of future bouts and we suspect that we'll see that in future performances from the two in the near future.
