Tomorrow Japanese fans in Kyoto will get a treat with two exciting looking domestic title fights. One of those is a bout for the Japanese Lightweight as Kota Tokunaga (15-2, 10) defends his title for the first time and faces off against fellow heavy hitter Yuhei Suzuki (16-4, 12).
Today the two men involved in that Lightweight bout took part in their weigh in, and both men made weight at their first attempt.
The two fighters, are said to be on very friendly terms, both promised a good fight and it seems their their personal friendship will not stop either man looking for the knockout when they get in the ring together tomorrow afternoon.
Although the bout will be the first defense for Tokunaga, who won the title earlier this year with an 8th round TKO win over Yuya Sugizaki, it will be actually be Suzuki's third short at the title after having twice come up short against former champion Yoshitaka Kato. The challenger will be hoping that his experience in title bouts will help see him to the win here.
Although it's not a given we are expecting this bout to be very explosive and potentially a real firefight between two men who are respectful of each other but also heavy handed and have shown frailties in the past.
