Tomorrow fight fans in Japan will get the chance to see a rematch between Japanese tough guy Akihiro Kondo (27-6-1, 14) [近藤 明広] and Thai veteran Patomsuk Pathompothong (33-6-1, 20) [ปฐมศึก เกษตรพัฒนา]. Today those two men took part in their weigh in for the bout and although it was a relatively jovial affair it does seem like both men are looking to put on a show for the fans.
Kondo, who beat the Thai last year due to a cut based stoppage, stated that his future lies in more significant bouts, and has stated that he would like to chase the OPBF Light Welterweight title going forward, attempting to unify it with his WBO Asia Pacific title. He seems to feel like he is a genuine player in the division and wants to chase a actively chase notable bouts.
The Thai was respectful of his foe but seemed confident of putting on an exciting performance here. He admitted that Kondo was a strong pressure fighter but seemed confident that he wouldn't suffer the same fate as he did in his previous bout with Kondo.
For fans interested in this bout will be featured on A-sign Boxing as part of their second A-sign Bee card, and does promise to be an enjoyable battle.
