Earlier today Mutoh boxing gym held a major press conference to announce a number of bouts. Arguably the most notable of those was a OPBF Middleweight title bout set for November 23rd at the Sumiyoshi Ward Center, in Osaka City.
The bout in question will see big punching Japanese Middleweight contender Koki Tyson (10-2-2, 10) [太尊 康輝] battle against unbeaten OPBF Middleweight champion Dwight Ritchie (14-0-0-4, 1), who claimed the title earlier this year in Japan.
For Tyson the bout sees him return to the ring after a very disappointing draw with Korean fighter Joon Yong Lee in July, in a bout that we felt Tyson was fortunate not to lose, and it will be his 3rd title bout. In his last title bout he claimed the WBC Youth title whilst in his other title bout he was schooled, and stopped, by Akio Shibata.
As for Ritchie this will be his first defense of the title he won in June, when he clearly defeated Hikaru Nishida in Tokyo. In his first Japanese bought he impressed the fans in Tokyo by out boxing, and then out fighting, Nishida and would have to be favoured here against the powerful but crude Osakan puncher.
