A few days ago we previewed and OPBF Flyweight title fight between Koki Eto (15-3-1, 10) and Ardin Diale (23-9-2, 10) and described it as a "potential thriller". For once we were totally right and the bout turned out to have all the action, excitement, thrills and spills that any fight fan would want to see courtesy of the deficiencies of the men involved in the contest.
The fight started well for Diale who managed to drop Eto in round 3 to score the first knock down of the fight. The knock down for Diale helped him amass a 39-36 lead when the opening scoring came into effect in round 4. It was just the knock down that had helped Diale establish a lead but his speed and aggression that had helped him to over-come a notable reach disadvantage.
The fight was a slugfest, what Koki Eto fight isn't?, and Eto was on the receiving end of the slugging in round 7 as he was dropped for the second time in the bout. By then it seemed as if the title was heading to the Philippines around the waist of Diale.
Eto showed his now infamous heart in round 8 and managed to turn the fight around in a round of the year contender that saw both men slugging with the intention of ending the bout there and then. One moment Eto was groggy and looking for the taking and then, moments late Diale was hurt, in fact he was dropped twice. Ater getting up Diale put it all on the line as he threw the kitchen sink at Eto though unfortunately blew himself out in the process and a follow up attack by by Eto after stunning Diale forced the stoppage in a remarkable turn around that could well go down as one of the comebacks of the year.
The fight was a barnstormer and is well worth a watch on our new video section of the site!
