Yesterday saw the official weigh ins ahead of Tuesday's big card in Buriram. Although we've not had all the weights form the card we have had details from the main event, a WBA interim Minimumweight title fight between Thailand's very own Knockout CP Freshmart (8-0, 5) and the much touted Nicaraguan Carlos Buitrago (27-0-1-1, 16).
The weigh in saw both men hitting the scales at ready made 105lbs.
Strangely despite weighing the same men looked very difficult and Buitrago was noticeably taller than the Thai fighter. As well as being taller Buitrago was also leaner whilst Freshmart appeared to be less cut though more hydrated. What difference this makes in the ring is yet to be seen though it could be that Buitrago has had to drain notable water weight, something that could effect his stamina in the harsh conditions of Thailand or it could suggest that Knockout hasn't trained his hardest and is carrying an extra little bit of "fat", if we can call it that.
As well as the main event we were also told that the co-feature fight between Palangpol CP Freshmart (4-1, 4), who's record has been updated on boxrec now thanks to @Fimeu90, and Tommy Seran (24-2, 15) also saw both men making weight. Those two will be trading blows for the WBA Asia Light Flyweight title currently held by Palangpol. From the stories we're hearing a win for Palangpol here and we may see him in a WBA world title fight in 2015 with his backers apparently very confident in their man's ability.
The TV broadcast from the show begins at 15:00 local time in Thailand and will be aired on Channel 7. For those not used to watching Thai cards this is slightly later than usual.
