This past weekend Korean fighter Hyun Woo Yuh (5-0, 5) blew away Indonesian veteran Rusmin Kie Raha (14-9-2, 3) in just 157 seconds.
Going in to that bout the KBF listed Yuh as being 2-0 (2) but following the win the KBF have recognised Yuh's record as now being 5-0 (5), adding wins he scored in Thailand to his record.
The KBF have, generally, had different records to boxrec.com when it comes to their fighters. In fact the KBF often have more complete records as a lot of bouts fought under the KBF haven't been entered into the Boxrec database. This is however the first time the KBF have retroactively added to their own records to complete the records of one of their fighters.
As we has speculated in the past the bouts that weren't part of his record were two contests that took place in Thailand.
The move might not be a major one from the KBF but it is one that points towards the possibility of the KBF making strides forward in terms of the way they work with the general boxing movement, and the fact they are taking details from boxrec is a great sign that they want to have complete records of their fighters. It would however help general record collecting if they were to share their records with boxrec.com to allow other KBF fighters to have single recognised records instead of the current mess where the records can be very different.
