Earlier this year we reported that Japanese former amateur star Kazuto Takesako (0-0) had passed his B grade license test with the intention of making his debut relatively soon. Today we got the date and time of his debut, which really is rather soon.
Takesako will be in action on July 14th at the Korakuen Hall as a participant in one of the Dangan B Class tournaments. The talented fighter will take part in a 5 round bout, as is typical of the B class tournaments, and will be up against Tomoyuki Yokota (5-3, 2) in a bout scheduled to take place in the Light Middleweight division.
Takesako, who is being trained by Toshiyuki Fujiwara, is tipped to go a long way, with national titles being the very least of expectations. The fact he's in a relatively high profile debut against a decent fighter suggests that his team, at the World Sports Boxing gym, aren't wanting to waste too much time getting to ease him into the sport. Instead they are hoping he can make a statement and be moved relatively quickly, like stablemate Takeshi Inoue.
