This coming Sunday we'll get the chance to see WBA Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka (21-1, 13) [井岡一翔] defend his title against Thai challenger Noknoi Sitthiprasert (62-4, 38) [นกน้อย ซีพีเฟรชมาร์ท]. The bout, held at the EDION Arena Osaka, will see the Osakan star seek his Japanese record equalling 14th win a world title bout, whilst Noknoi will be hunting an incredible 62nd straight win, and potentially announce himself on the world stage.
Going in to the fight it's little surprise to see Ioka, a real Japanese star, as the big betting favourite. In fact his price, of 1/20, is almost making him unbackable to bet on with no real return on one of the biggest favourites of the year. Whilst we've no doubt Ioka should be favoured we won't be putting on any money on his with such a low return.
For those interested in the upset, and what an upset it would be, Noknoi can be backed up at 10/1 for the win. A huge price in a 2-horse race, though backing the Thai would be similar to backing a horse with a lame leg. Whilst Noknoi has won his last 61 fights, and does sound confident, he is still going to need a career best performance to win, and hope that Ioka has a bad day at the office.
As for the draw, that has been priced at 25/1.
Kazuto Ioka looks to end Noknoi's 61 fight winning run!
