Earlier today in Japan saw the weigh in for tomorrows big fight between OPBF Super Featherweight champion Jomthong Chuwatana (8-0, 4) and Japanese challenger Daiki Kaneko (21-3-3, 14).
Kaneko made the weight at the first time of asking and, as he always does, looked amazing leaving us again wondering how he manages to make 130lbs. Sadly however the same couldn't be said for Jomthong who appeared to really struggle with the scales. On his first attempt the champion was more than ½lbs over the divisional limit and needed a third attempt to make weight before managing to make the limit.
Strangely, for such a well established fighter, Jomthong also didn't look great at the weigh in. That's not to say he looked fat but he looked comparatively weak when compared to the ripped challenger.
Whether or not the champion's struggle with the scales will effect the result tomorrow are yet to be seen though Kaneko did appear very confident and suggested that he was on the road to another world title fight, however That road will have to go through Jomthong first.
