Earlier today saw the announcements of the Japanese monthly award winners for October.
The MVP of the month was won by Japanese based Filipino fighter Ricky Sismundo (30-8-2, 13) who claimed a career best win on October 12th, when he out pointed Yoshitaka Kato over 8 rounds. The win for Sismundo saw him scoring his 4th win in 5 fights and it now seems like he could be in the running for a title fight in 2016.
The Fighting Spirit award was won by Takuya Watanabe (26-6-1, 12) who gave a brilliant performance on October 22nd against Japanese Featherweight champion Satoshi Hosono. Although Watanabe came up short in that fight, losing a majority decision, it was clear that his performance was deserving of recognition and that was seen by those in charge of these awards.
The State of the Art award was won by Kenya Yamashita (8-1, 5) who bounce back from a loss in February by stopping Musashi Suzuki in 6 rounds on October 3rd.
