Earlier today Nitta Gym announced a show set to take place in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on November 20th. The card will feature 8 bouts in total, 3 of which will be amateur bouts, 3 will be 4 rounders and 2 will be 6 rounders, as well as an exhibition featuring Kimika Miyoshi (13-9-1, 5) [三好 喜美佳].
The card will be held under the auspices of WBC Asia, due to the lack of a professional body in Vietnam, and will be aired in Vietnam on VIEW TV.
Sadly the line up of Japanese fighters on the card isn't the best, in fact it's actually a pretty weak line up with the main event fighter being Ryo Hino (8-1-1, 4) [日野 僚], who we think will be facing Tran Van Thao (2-0) in one of the 6 rounders.
Despite the less than flattering line up it's a first step in bringing professional boxing to Vietnam and could potentially awaken the countries boxing scene, who could be a chance to see yet another country join the boxing mix.
