According to the Indonesian press we will see the ring return of the promising Iwan Zoda (10-1, 9) on August 20th in Ketapang, West Borneo. The press have reported that he will be up against a Thai opponent, though specific details are scarce.
There are still a few potential barriers in the way of the bout but Zoda's team are trying to make sure the bout goes ahead as planned.
The contest will be a non-title bout and the focus seems to be on keeping Zoda active, with the youngster having fought just 9 rounds so far in 2016. Although still young his team won't be wanting him to get too much ring rust, or wanting fans to forget about him and will instead try to keep him ticking over whilst they try to secure him a big bout.
The story of Zoda's return was also reported along with the inauguration ceremony of the new chairman at the top of Indonesian Boxing Commission (KTI) West Kalimantan branch . The bracch's focus seems to be on Zoda and the future of Indonesian boxing in the area, and it's hoped that the new chairman, Adrianus Asia Sidot, will focus on the emerging young talents from Indonesia, along with the established name of Daud Yordan.
The same article also stated that the KTI had high hopes for 3 shows this year along with a major one in either January or February next year. Hopefully one of those shows will see Zoda in action against a notable name.
