Arguably the biggest name in action on New Year's Eve is WBA Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka (20-1, 12) [井岡一翔] who looks for his next defense as he takes on interim champion Stamp Kiatniwat (15-0, 6) [แสตมป์ กระทิงแดงยิม] in Hyogo. Today the two men under-went their physical examinations.
Both men all the tests but the measurements did give us some interesting information. Notably the fact that Ioka, a former Minimumweight champion, is the bigger man. In fact he boasts a 4cm height advantage, a similar advantage in reach and a thicker chest, though Stamp did have a marginally thicker neck.
At the medical Ioka looked relaxed and calmly confident, Stamp however looked more worried than he had at the public work out and in fact it almost looked like the reality of his upcoming bout had hit him, as had a struggle with his weight. Notably Stamp didn't say a lot during the medical and it did seem like he was either really determined and series or rather worried.
Kazuto Ioka continues a tradition as he looks to Stamp on Kiatniwat!
