Tomorrow fight fans in Tokyo will get the chance to see a WBO females Minimumweight title fight between defending champion Kumiko Seeser Ikehara (8-1-2, 3) [池原シーサー久美子] and veteran challenger Kayoko Ebata (9-6, 5) [江畑 佳代子].
Today those two fighters weighed in for their bout and both made weight for the contest.
On the scales Ikehara was bang on the limit, weighing in at 105lbs for the bout. The weight was the same as the champion has been in 6 of her last 7 bouts, including her title win and 3 subsequent defenses of the belt.
As for Ebata the veteran came in at around 104½lbs, which is surprisingly the lightest recorded weight of her career. Given the 40 year old will almost certainly know this will be her final chance to claim a world title it's clear she has prepared incredibly hard for the bout and given her all in the build up to the contest.
For fans not in Tokyo the bout will be featured on delay on boxingraise with subscribers able to watch the contest from Thursday.
