Earlier today Shinsei gym held a press conference which featured two of their former world champions. One of those was former WBA female Minimumweight champion Etsuko Tada (14-2-2, 4) whilst the other was former WBC Bantamweight and Featherweight champion Hozumi Hasegawa (34-5, 15).
The announcement for Tada was that she would be fighting for an IBF title on December 11th. On the same she we also see Hasegawa take part in a 10 round bout at Featherweight, albeit against a yet to be named opponent, though a man expected to be world ranked.
The bout will be Hasegawa's second bout since his loss to Kiko Martinez and will see the talented "Ace of Japan" move towards a world title shot.
Whilst the opponent for Hasegawa is unknown we do feel that he'll likely be targeting a fighter ranked by the IBF, with champion Lee Selby arguably the title holder that matches up best for Hasegawa in the long run.
An annoucement regarding Hasegawa's opponent is expected to be made soon
