Tomorrow fans will get the chance to see a wonderful match up between Japan's Hisashi Amagasa (30-5-2, 20) [天笠 尚] and popular Englishman Josh Warrington (22-0, 4). Today, ahead of that bout, the two men took part in their weigh in and both came in under the 126lb Featherweight limit.
On the scales Warrington, the much shorter man, was 125lbs, a full 1lb under the limit for the bout. It's the same weight as he was a year ago, when he defeat Filipino Dennis Tubieron via a wide unanimous but a full 1lbs heavier than he was last time out, when he defeated Joe Brunker by decision.
Amagasa on the other hand was 125.5lb, 0.5lbs lighter than the limit. The weight is his lightest since his career defining loss against Guillermo Rigondeaux, when he came in at 121.75lbs. Despite being slightly lighter than usual he looked in fantastic shape and towered over the Englishman.
For fans wanting to tune in and watch this one, it will be televised on Sky Sports in the UK and promises to be an intriguing one, with both men looking to record one of their most significant wins to date.
