Last week we reported that Japanese yougnster Hiroto Kyoguchi (5-0, 5) [京口 紘人] would be back in the ring on February 28th to battle Filipino veteran Armando dela Cruz (25-14-3, 11) in a bout for the OPBF Minimumweight title. At the time of that report the bout wasn't officially announced, and in fact the OPBF title was held by Shinsei gym's Ryuya Yamanaka (13-2, 3) [山中 竜也].
Just a day after we reported the bout Yamanaka announced that he had vacated the belt, building on the speculation that Kyoguchi and dela Cruz had indeed agreed a bout for the belt, but then things went a little quiet for a few days.
Today however that silence was broken and bout was officially announced this morning, and as originally speculated it willtake place at the end of February on Dangan 176, as the co-feature bout of the card along with the "interim" Japanese Flyweight title bout between Masayuki Kuroda (25-7-3, 15) [黒田 雅之] and Yuta Matsuo (12-2-1, 6) [ユータ松尾].
The show hasn't yet been confirmed for a live stream by Boxingraise but the speculation is that the card will indeed be shown live, something the service does seem to try and do once a month.
Strangely the only show currently showing as scheduled for the service in February is the "Pioneer of Fight Vol 2" card on February 19th. That card isn't a huge one but it does feature a very interesting main event between the under-rated Akinori Hoshino (12-7-1, 9) [星野 晃規], looking to build on a win over Kenya Yamashita, and youngster Shun Kosaka (13-2, 3) [小坂 駿] and will also feature the fast rising Junto Nakatani (9-0,7) [中谷 潤人].
