We've known that WBC Youth Bantamweight champion Hinata Maruta (4-0, 3) [丸田 陽七太] would be returning to the ring on March 26th to defend his title on "Art of Boxing 4" at the Satsukiyama Gym in Ikeda, Osaka. We didn't however know who he would be defending his title against. Today however we have seen his opponent's name being leaked.
We now know that Maruta's opponent for his up coming bout will be unbeaten Indonesian fighter Hamson Tiger Lamandau (8-0, 5), who will be fighting outside of Indonesia for the first time.
Little is really known about Lamandau but newspapers from the Indonesan state that he won a KTI, an Indonesian boxing body, title last year when he stopped Amirulfadzly Pendy in the third round, of a scheduled 10 rounder. In the video of that bout the Indonesian looked short but powerful, and will seemingly be giving away height, reach and speed to Maruta.
On paper the challenger's best win is a 6 round decision over Suparyanto Doglo, who is best known for being stopped in 3 rounds by a then 1-0 Muhammad Waseem. That win came in Lamandau's second bout and is one of 3 bouts that Lamandau has won by decision, all over the 6 round distance.
At the moment it's unclear whether the show will be featured on boxingraise, who are yet to announce their schedule for for March, but it does look likely that the show will be covered on on the subscription service as a delayed broadcast.
