Tonight in the US fight fans will get the chance to see Middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31) defending his WBA “super”, IBF, and WBC “interim” Middleweight titles against unbeaten IBF mandatory challenger Dominic Wade (18-0, 12). Yesterday, in the US the fighters took part in their weigh in.
On the scales Golovkin was 159lbs, the same weight that he was for 3 of his last 3 bouts, whilst Wade was slightly heavier, coming in at 159.5lbs, which is surprisingly a career low for the American.
The bout is expected to see Golovkin continue his reign as the champion, though Wade has certainly sounded very confident and has mentioned breaking Golovkin's face.
For fans of the unbeaten WBC Flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez (44-0, 38), he was 111.4lbs for his bout against challenger McWilliams Arroyo (16-2, 14), who was 111.6lbs. Notably however there have been rumours that this could be Gonzalez's last bout as a Flyweight.
