Over the last 24 hours we have been informed that Japanese hopeful Genki Hanai (6-0, 4) [華井 玄樹], a former amateur star on the domestic scene, will make his return on October 10th at the Juroku Plaza in Gifu. Sadly for Hanai he has missed out on a title and will instead be facing Thailand's Poomsak Saknarong (0-0-1)*, who we believe will be fighting for the first time since a 2014 technical draw against Keisuke Nakayama in Fukuoka.
The talented, and much touted, 25 year old, will be fighting for the first time since he scored a win against Il Che way back in March, essentially ending what has been a frustrating year for the Gifu local. It had been a year beginning with real promise but it seems like the year has been a relative write off. Thankfully however 2017 promises to be a much better year for the Gifu man, who will almost certainly get a title bout, be it Japanese, OPBF or WBO Pacific.
At the moment little of interest is listed for the under-card however the focus will clearly be on Hanai, who has promised a lot but is yet to truly deliver.
