Earlier today we were informed that former WBA Super Bantamweight world title challenger Hidenori Otake (23-2-3, 10) would be back in the ring on November 18th as the next Kaneko Boxing Gym promoted card. The card, dubbed "Golden Child Boxing vol. 115" will be headlined by Otake in an 8 round bout against Thai visitor San Saknarong (2-4).
Otake, a former Japanese national champion, is of course best known for his exploits in England last year against Scott Quigg. In that bout the tough Japanese fighter suffered a clear loss but was tough enough to give Quigg 12 rounds and always pressed forward, showing his toughness throughout. Since that loss however Otake has been relatively inactive with just a single bout, a 3rd round KO win over Phissanuthep Chaiyonggym.
Whilst Otake is known around the world, albeit for a loss, San isn't well known, at all. Despite that Japanese fans have had the chance to see him in the past. In fact San has picked up all 4 of his defeats in Japan, including decision losses to Takuya Watanabe and Kenta Onjo.
The rest of the card for the show is relatively poor with the chief support bout, also an 8 rounder, set to feature Takahiro Fujii (7-4-1, 2) fighting against Jaipetch Chaiyonggym (5-3, 1) and the rest of the card all being booked for 4 rounds.
For those who have forgotten about Otake Vs Quigg, we've included the full fight video below.
