According to sources in Thailand the IBF have agreed to allow popular Thai youngster Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr (29-4-1, 15) [ฟ้าลั่นจูเนียร์ เกษตรพัฒนา] to fight in a world title eliminator against Colombian Jose Antonio Jimenez (16-5-1, 7) in a world title eliminator.
The bout pits two men who are IBF ranked in to a bout with the winner to become the #1 contender at Minimumweight, where the current champion is Jose Argumedo.
Of the two men Fahlan is the more proven holding a win over former world champion Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎 亮] and a controversial technical decision loss to the then champion Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr [高山 勝成]. The Thai youngster is also from a boxing family with his father having been a former IBF Minimumweight champion.
As for Jimenez his record is poor. He's 0-1 outside of Colombia, suffering a stoppage to Ramon Garcia Hirales in his highest profile bout to date. His only other notable opponents are Jorle Estrada, who he lost to, and a 37 year old Ronald Ramos, who he drew with in 2014.
At the moment no date seems to have been announced for this one though we're expecting it to be announce shortly.
