Tomorrow we will see a potentially brilliant OPBF Flyweight title bout as former world title challenger Richard Claveras (17-2-2, 14) battles Japan's Keisuke Nakayama (9-2-1, 4) [中山 佳祐].
Today Nakayama and Claveras took part in their weigh in, and both men managed to make weight for the contest.
The taller, but less proven, Nakayama was the heavier man on the scales, coming in at 112lbs exactly. He admitted to being nervous, for what is his first title bout, but he sounded like a man who had scouted Claveras and is aware that the Filipino is mostly dangerous early in the bout.
Claveras on the other hand was under the limit, albeit by only a small bit, and looked in great shape for the contest. The bout will serve as his first defense of the title, after the OPBF upgraded his interim title, and will see him fight on Japanese soil for the first time, with the promise of an exciting contest and a KO win.
For fans wanting to watch this, it will be aired on Boxingraise as part of their subscription.
