Earlier today the twitter account for the SGS gym announced the next bout for their fast rising youngster Daigo Higa (9-0, 9) [比嘉 大吾], who we now know will return to the ring on July 2nd to fight for the OPBF Flyweight title, in a bout against Filipino Ardin Diale(31-9-3, 15), who will be looking to record his second defense of the title.
The bout sees Diale return to the Japanese boxing "holy ground" of the Korakuen Hall for the second time since his memorable war with Koki Eto, a stablemate of Higa's. The Eto bout saw Diale coming up short and it seems clear that he would love to get one over on the SGS gym. It will also see Diale lookign to record a 9th straight win since that Eto contest.
For Higa the bout is another step up in class, though so far the WBC Youth Flyweight champion has taken every step up in class with out too many issues. He has proven his ability on the road, winning in south Korea and in Thailand, and looks to be a fighter who is improving on a regular basis, with his power and stamina now looking to be legitimately proven.
The bout is set to take place on the 551st Dynamic Glove show, and we're expecting, though it is yet to be confirmed, that the bout will be aired live on G+, like Higa's last 2 bouts.
