Earlier today saw the official weigh in for tomorrows very interesting Filipino (GAB) Flyweight title fight between current champion Ardin Diale (24-9-3, 11) and the heavy handed challenger Jenny Boy Buca (9-1, 9). Strangely both men failed on their first attempt to make the 112lb Flyweight division though both made weight on their second attempt on the scales.
Originally Buca was 114lbs whilst Diale was 112.5lb thankfully the weight was shifted easily by both men .
For Diale this will be the 6th defence of the belt that he won way back in September 2011. He's not been unbeaten in that run having lost 3 bouts to non-Filipino's including current unified Flyweight world champion Juan Francisco Estrada and current OPBF Flyweight champion Koki Eto, in what was one of the fights of the year. Notably he has stopped all 5 previous challengers to his crown.
Buca, a very heavy handed fighter from is an exciting 20 year old prospect who has scored 3 straight wins since suffering a very narrow defeat to Jerson Lazurito last December. On paper it's the hardest fight of his career though he is fast improving and knows that a win here could well put him on his way towards an OPBF title fight.
