Yesterday fans in Tokyo had the opportunity to see WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (23-0-2, 17) partake in a public training session ahead of his September 22nd clash against former WBA “super” champion Anselmo Moreno (35-3-1, 12). Today it's been the turn of Moreno with the Panamanian taking part in his open training session, also held in Tokyo.
Moreno spent around an hour working at the Teiken gym and spent much of that time working on the pads whilst also talking to the media with plenty of his comments being genuinely intriguing.
Among the comments from the former champion was the fact he didn't really much about Yamanaka until recently, admitting that he knew of Koki Kameda but didn't know much of Yamanaka. On that same subject he also mentioned that Kameda didn't want to fight him, something that was clear when Kameda refused to go to purse bids with Moreno.
Another comment of note was translated as he "could not go back to Panama empty handed" whilst he said that if he was to win he would offer a rematch to Yamanaka, if the Japanese fighter would want one.
