Earlier today fans in Yemen saw the 4th meeting in as many months between Ali Raymi (24-0, 24) and his compatriot Prince Maz (9-4, 7). This time the bout wasn't at Minimumweight, where Raymi had fought his previous 23 bouts, but instead it was at Light Flyweight as Raymi began his run at the 108lb division and successfully claimed the lightly regarded UBO title.
Whilst full fight footage isn't available we have stumbled on some footage from the bout, in particular from the bouts second round which was certainly interesting and actually saw Raymi pushing the referee as he attempted to get to Maz after the bout was stopped.
We know some fans have heard enough of Raymi and his rivalry with Maz and in all honestly we're with those fans. It's now hopefully time that Raymi and his team managed to secure a fight with someone from the rest of Asia. A fight with, for example, a Thai, a Filipino, an Indonesian or a Japanese fighter would tell us a lot, lot more about Raymi than any more fights with Yemeni fighters.
In a dream world Raymi's next fight will be a meaningful one though we suspect that it may be against another Yemeni based fighter, possibly Hani Ansi who certainly been entertaining in his career so far.
