On July 20th Watanabe Gym will be putting on a relatively small card at Korakuen Hall. Looking at it the card it's self wouldn't get much attention, despite some pretty nice domestic bouts. It does however have an event that isn't listed on Boxrec, and that's the retirement ceremony of former Japanese Featherweight champion Taiki Minamoto, who will share the ring for a friendly spar with former world champion Takashi Uchiyama, in something's that's regarded as a big enough draw to be the focus of the poster. If we're being honest it's a smart move by Watanabe Gym, who will know that Uchiyama is still a draw, and more so than the fighters in actual bouts on the show. Given the focus is Minamoto's retirement ceremony it makes sense he's the star of the poster and whilst the show is, overall, nothing major this poster certainly does it's belt to attract attention to the event.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
