The last 12 months or so have been a frustrating one for the Dangan team, who have had numerous shows cancelled due to the on going pandemic. Despite that they are battling through it, and will put on their next show on June 6th when they partner up with the Watanabe gym for a title triple header. All the fighters on the card are clearly seen in the poster, and whilst it's certainly nothing original or artistically amazing, it does a good job and showing exactly what fans will be getting. A solid overall, yet simple, poster.
On May 22nd and May 23rd Dangan are set to put on 3 shows in Sumida. The first of those is on the Saturday and is a joint promotion between Dangan and Kadoebi, dubbed Dangan 239 & Slugfest. The poster for the show is a simple yet busy one, with the 6 fighters involved in the shows 3 title fights taking center stage on the poster. It's nothing new or original but it's a poster that sells the show, and that is never a bad thing. Simple but very effective here.
Earlier today saw the announcement of an April 28thh card set to take place in Japan as a joint promotion between Kadoebi, and their Slugfest banner, and Dangan. Although the full show wasn't announced the main event was, and a poster image was also released. The main event will see former IBF world champion Yukinori Oguni take on Shingo Wake, a in a rematch of a 2013 bout between the two men. The really sells on the two fighters in a basic, but striking and clear design. Nothing too amazing from an artistic point of view, but this just works. It's very simple, but very effective.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
