On March 25th Filipino fight fans will get the next show under the Boxing Kontra Droga banner, headlined by a brilliant match up between Juan Miguel Elorde and Shohei Kawashima, who battle for a WBO Asia Pacific title, whilst a leading support bout will see Casey Morton tackle Chie Higano in a female WBO Asia Pacific title contest. The card is a pretty solid one, but we don't think much of the poster if we're being honest.
On September 22nd we're set for a thrilling match up in the Philippines, as former world title challengers Jonathan Taconing and Vince Paras face off for the WBC International Light Flyweight title. The poster image really sells the bout short, given it's such a great fight, but the poster does have plenty of details on it, so there is some redeeming factors there.
On March 25th Filipino fight fans get the next in the Boxing Kontra Droga show. The card has a number of notabe names on it, and is a pretty decent design, though the lack of full colour does make it easy to over-look. The card makes the bout order and significance really easy to understand, but thr lack of colour reall undoes all the good stuff about it.
On February 25th Filipino fight fans will get the chance to see a WBO Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight title fight, as Juan Miguel Elorde defends the title against Thai challenger Yodsingdaeng Jor Chajinda. The poster is a pretty simple one, but does the job of selling the main event well, and continues to push the Elorde brand.
Many domestic Filipino shows are full of mismatches and relatively avoidable bouts that bear little relevance on the international scene. On March 25th however we get a brilliant card that features 4 title bouts, including a brilliant domestic title bout and 3 domestic bouts, a pair of promising prospects and a domestic awards ceremony. The show really is one of the major ones we've seen from the Philippines in recent years.
As for the poster it's not as good as the show but it does it's job explaining how to get tickets, what the show will involve and what match ups are on the card. Basic but effective.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
