Over the past few weeks it seems that we've seen a lot of the Mexico/Philippines rivalry with a number of bouts, and even shows, dedicated to the clashes between two of boxing's biggest and most important nations. On January 25th however the focus changes from Mexico against Philippines to Mexico against Japan for a show dubbed "Mexico Vs Japon".
The show, headlined by a bout between the big hitting Adrian Estrella and Japan's Yuta Matsuda, sees two Mexico/Japan bouts. The biggest, the aforementioned Estrella/Matsuda, is expected to be a mismatch with Estrella likely to have too much power for Matsuda. The second bout, a meeting between former female world champions Tenkai Tsunami and Arely Muncino, looks to be nothing short of enthralling and the type of bout that is slowly making female boxing so big in Latin American.
With titles expected to be on the line for both bouts the card is a real treat for fans in Mexico, where the show will be televised.
As well as the two bouts of note for us, we also need to give credit to the promoters behind the show for having a genuinely excellent poster. It's a poster that shows the two major bouts, shows details about the card and generally looks pretty different. Well done to Promociones Del Pueblo who of course were the promoters who put together a very infamous poster earlier this year, this is a genuine good one.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
