On March 21st fight fans in the Philippines will be able to see the fact rising Carl Jammes Martin return to the ring to take on veteran Ardin Diale in an interesting match up to headline "Fists of the Future". The poster is a very simple and effective one. Simple poster but it sells the main event and the idea that Martin is a major part of the future of Filipino boxing.
On February 22nd unbeaten action fighter Carl Jammes Martin will take on his toughest test to date, as he battles Renoel Pael for the PBF Bantamweight title. The poster does a good job at selling the bout as something big but doesn't really see the show as a whole, just adding that there would be 11 exciting bouts as well as the main event. They'd have been better off listing the names involved in those bouts to try and add to the hype. This actually works better as a banner than a poster for us and it just looks horribly under-finished as a promotional poster.
This weekend US fans get a chance to see a pair of Filipino brothers in action with Albert Pagara and older brother Jason Pagara both in notable bouts on the latest "Pinoy Pride" card. Of the two brothers it's Albert who is in the main event, facing off against the tough as old boots Cesar Juarez in what should be a genuien test for the Filipino youngster, who could see a win launch him towards a world title fight at the end of the year. The poster sells the show completely on that one bout, and with good reason as it's a genuinely cracking bout.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
