On July 14th we'll get a co-promoted Watanabe Gym and Dangan show headlined by Ginjiro Shigeoka defending his WBO Asia Pacific Minimumweight title against Toshiki Kawamitsu. The poster makes it clear that that bout is going to be something special, and it's that bout they selling the show around. Big time. In fact the result of the poster features only a tiny portion for the under-card and supporting match ups. This is a good design, it makes the main fighters look like huge stars and it's a very solid poster, even if it's not the most artistic or unique. They've used what they have and they've used it well.
To end a 3 show mega event in May Dangan will put on Dangan 241, a triple title show, featuring some mouth watering bouts and some of the best young talent in Japan. The poster features all 6 fighters involved in the title bouts, and it has the feeling of being something of a domestic super show. The branding is strong, the imagery is clear and the over-all design works really well. We like this, a lot. Interestingly all 3 posters for the weekend are similar in design, and that really adds some coherence to the weekend, and a strong image to the three shows. Well done to everyone involved in the 3 shows.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
