On May 5th fight fans in Japan will be able to see the ring return of former 3-weight world champion Koki Kameda, who faces off with Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in an 8 round exhibition. The poster for the show focuses almost entirely on Koki and is a very simple design with a numner of the other fighters in small inset pictures. It's a bit too simple and whilst it certainly works it does feel a bit limited and bit like those involved feel Koki is such a big draw that he can see the entire show, despite only being in an exhibition.
To kick off 2018, and boy does that feel weird, we get a Kyoei card featuring Jun Yabuki, Kyosuke Kameda and Joe Blog as Kyoei begin their new serious "Tokyo Fight Club", aka "TFC". The poster for the card is a simple one but one that sells on Vlog's career as a "youtube star". It's a pretty boring poster but a start of a potentially key series of shows from the once formidable Japanese promotional outfit.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
