December 31st 2015-Aichi Prefectural Gym Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Kosei Tanaka (5-0, 2) Vs Vic Saludar (11-1, 9) One of the top Prospects of 2014 was Kosei Tanaka, who claimed a world title this year in just his 5th professional bout. To end 2015 he sought the first defense of that title as he took on Filipino puncher Vic Saludar in what turned out to be a thrilling encounter of power and action. The tactics used may not have been the smartest but the action was amazing and explosive. December 29th 2015-Ariake Colosseum Tokyo, Japan Takuma Inoue (5-0, 1) Vs Rene Dacquel (15-5-1, 5) In 2015 we saw Japanese youngster Takuma Inoue claim the OPBF Super Flyweight title. In his first defense he took on Filipino foe Rene Dacquel. (Video thanks to 高嶋史郎) December 29th 2015-Ariake Colosseum Tokyo, Japan Satoshi Hosono (29-2-1, 20) Vs Akifumi Shimoda (30-4-2, 13) December 29th 2015 staged the second FES boxing card. As part of that card fans in Tokyo got the chance to see a compelling Japanese Featherweight title bout between defending champion Satoshi Hosono and former world champion Akifumi Shimoda if you like compelling and competitive fights then this is one for you. (Video thanks to 高嶋史郎) December 29th 2015-Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Koki Inoue (0-0) vs Jackson Koel Lapie (2-1) The Inoue boxing family is, quite possibly, at the start of a genuine dynasty in Japan with 3 really exciting fighters. We all know about Naoya Inoue, the destructive 2 weight world champion and OPBF champion Takuma Inoue. Now we'd like to introduce you to their cousin, Koki Inoue who debuted in late 2015 with a bout against Indonesian foe Jackson Koel Lapie. (Video thanks to 高嶋史郎) December 29th 2015-Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Akira Yaegashi (22-5, 12) Vs Javier Mendoza (24-2-1, 19) Earlier this week we had the chance to see a thriller as Akira Yaegashi challenged Javier Mendoza for the IBF Light Flyweight title. At the moment we've not come across he TV version, shown by Fuji TV, but we have stumbled on this brilliant fan-cam footage courtesy of youtube user 高 嶋 史 郎. We hope we'll get the TV version soon, but must admit that this footage is a treat it's self. December 27th 2015-Abeno Ward Center Osaka, Osaka, Japan Mark John Yap (22-12, 10) Vs Hiroyuki Hisataka (24-13-1, 10) It's rare to get bouts between two fighters with double digit losses that are actually interesting bouts on paper. This past weekend however Japanese fans got one such bout as 4-time world title challenger Hiroyuki Hisataka took on Japanese based Filipino Mark John Yap in a genuine intriguing bout with genuine relevance on the Japanese domestic scene. December 29th 2015-Ariake Colosseum Tokyo, Japan Naoya Inoue (8-0, 7) Vs Warlito Parrenas (24-6-1, 21) In December 2014 Naoya Inoue made a mark on the boxing world by destroying Omar Andres Narvaez. It took him almost a year to return to the ring, and when he did he faced mandatory challenger Warlito Parrenas, a heavy handed and confident Filipino fighter. The question going in, was how would Inoue look after almsot a year of inactivity. December 27th 2015-Oyamazaki-cho Gym Otokuni-gun, Kyoto, Japan Ken Shiro (5-0, 3) Vs Kenichi Horikawa (30-13-1, 7) Japanese youngster Ken Shiro has been "one to watch" since his debut in mid 2014. To end 2015 he faced experienced Japanese Light Flyweight champion Kenichi Horikawa in what looked like a brilliant match up on paper and a real test of the youngster's credentials.
