November 28th-Xebio Arena, Sendai, Miyagi, Japan Yu Kimura (17-2-1, 3) Vs Pedro Guevara (26-1-1, 17) The Light Flyweight division has been one of the sports most over-looked weight classes in recent years with many fighters passing through it on their way to to bigger match ups. Although over-looked there is talent in it, with fighters like Donnie Nietes, Ryoichi Taguchi, Javier Mendoza and Jonathan Taconing being just 4 noteworthy names. Two other noteworthy names were in action this past weekend as Yu Kimura challenged WBC champion Pedro Guevara in a fantastic match up between two skilled and massively over-looked fighters. Although relatively limited he's rarely in a poor fight, and has actually been in a number of FOTY contenders. His most recent bout may not have been one of his must fun to watch but did see him challenger WBC Super Flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras. November 7th 2015-Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Ryota Murata (7-0, 5) Vs Gunnar Jackson (22-6-3, 8) Japanese boxing hasn't had many names above Super Featherweight making a mark internationally. One man hoping to change that is Ryota Murata, a 2012 Olympic gold medal winner. Murata, who is co-promoted by Top Rank and Teiken, recently made his US debut as he faced Gunnar Jackson in what was a very solid match up for a man fighting in just his 8th pro bout. Sadly however Murata failed to leave the impression that he was hoping for and later admitted himself that he was disappointed with how he fought.
