December 31st 2014- Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Katsunari Takayama (27-7-0-1, 10) Vs Go Odaira (11-3-3, 1) At the end of 2014 we had an oddity in Japan as Katsunari Takayama [高山 勝成] and Go Odaira [大平 剛] faced off in a bout for the then vacant WBO and IBF Minimumweight titles in what was, essentially, a vacant world title unification bout. February 15th 1993-Tokyo, Japan Shinji Takehara (14-0, 11) vs Satoshi Yokozaki (8-10-3, 5) II In 1993 hard hitting Japanese Middleweight Shinji Takehara [竹原慎二] faced off against Satoshi Yokozaki [横崎哲角] for the second time. In their first bout Takehara stopped Yokozaki in 10 rounds, very early in his career, whilst in this bout Takehara entered the Japanese Middleweight champion and was seeking his 4th defense of that national title. August 17th 1992-Tokyo, Japan Shinji Takehara (13-0, 11) vs Biney Martin (11-1-1, 3) In 1992 future WBA Middleweight world champion Shinji Takehara [竹原慎二] battled against Biney Martin [ビニー・マーチン], who is currently one of the most notable referees in Japan. The bout saw Takehara looking to defend his Japanese Middleweight title for the third time. February 17th 1992-Tokyo, Japan Shinji Takehara (11-0, 10) vs Hisashi Teraji (6-0-3, 5) In February 1992 Japanese Middleweight champion Shinji Takehara [竹原慎二] faced off with the unbeaten Hisashi Teraji [寺地永], the father of emerging prospect Kenshiro Teraji, in a bout between unbeaten punchers.
