December 4th 2022-EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka Joey Canoy (18-5-2-1, 10) Vs Kenichi Horikawa (41-17-1, 14) In late 2022 we saw under-rated Filipino fighter Joey Canoy face off with Japanese veteran Kenichi Horikawa [堀川謙一], with the men fighting for the OPBF Light Flyweight title. Coming in to this Horikawa was 42, though had proven to be to be extremely tough, having gone 12 rounds with Shokichi Iwata just a few months earlier, and he'd only been stopped 3 times in his long career with his most recent stoppage loss coming back in 2010 to heavy handed Filipino Florante Condes.
