February 17th 2016-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shingo Wake (19-4-2, 11) Vs Waldo Sabu (7-2, 2) Back in 2016 Japanese fight fans at Korakuen Hall saw the then IBF #1 ranked Super Bantamweight Shingo Wake [和氣慎吾] battle against Indonesian Waldo Sabu in what was, for all intents, a tune up bout for Wake. Around 5 months after this bout Wake managed to get a shot at the IBF title, taking on the hard hitting Jonathan Guzman at the EDION Arena Osaka. June 10th 2015- Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shingo Wake (18-4-2, 11) Vs Mike Tawatchai (35-7-1, 21) In 2015 Japanese fight fans at Korakuen Hall got an IBF Super Bantamweight world title eliminator as local favourite Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾] faced off with Thai visitor Mike Tawatchai, aka Pipat Chaiporn. July 27th 2018-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Yusaku Kuga (16-2-1, 11) Vs Shingo Wake (24-5-2, 16) In 2018 fans at Korakuen Hall saw Japanese Bantamweight champion Yusaku Kuga [久我勇作] look to take a step towards a world title fight as he took on the talented, and often under-rated, Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾]. August 22nd 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shingo Wake (26-6-2, 18) vs Shohei Kawashima (18-4-2, 4) Back in August we saw former world title challenger Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾] take on Shohei Kawashima (18-5-2, 4) [川島翔平] at the Korakuen Hall. This bout was shown live on Boxing Raise and has since been uploaded to YouTube by Wake. January 19th 2019-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shingo Wake (25-5-2, 17) vs Takafumi Nakajima (29-11-1, 13) II Earlier today at the Korakuen Hall fight fans had the chance to see the second meeting between Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾] and Takafumi Nakajima [中嶋 孝文]. These two had fought in May 2012, when Nakajima beat Wake, and it was clear that Wake wanted to avenge that loss. June 10th 2013-Korakuen Hall, Toyko, Japan Shingo Wake (15-4-2, 8) vs Jovylito Aligarbes (10-2, 4) Back in 2013 Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾], the then OPBF Super Bantamweight champion, took on Jovy Aligarbes, who also fought in Japan as Jovy Katsumata. June 10th 2013-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shingo Wake (13-4-2, 6) vs Eita Kikuchi (14-2-4, 6) In his first defense of the OPBF Super Bantamweight title Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾] battled felow Japanese fighter Eita Kikuchi [菊地永太]. October 14th 2013-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shingo Wake (14-4-2, 7) vs Jhunriel Ramonal (13-5-4, 7) In early 2013 Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾] won the OPBF Super Bantamweight title, stopping Yukinori Oguni, in his second defense of the title Wake took on Filipino fighter Jhunriel Ramonal. |
