August 29th 1999-Osaka Dome, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Veeraphol Sahaprom (22-1, 16) v Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (17-5-1, 12) II In 1998 Japan's Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] suffered a 6th round stoppage loss to Thailand's Veeraphol Sahaprom [วีระพล นครหลวงโปรโมชั่น]. The following year the two men had a rematch with Tatsuyoshi looking to avenge his 1998 loss and become a world champion once again. For those wanting to watch the first bout between these two that's here Veeraphol Sahaprom Vs Joichiro Tatsuyoshi April 13th 1997-Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (13-3-1,11) Vs Daniel Zaragoza (54-7-3, 28) II In 1996 Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] was defeated by Mexican veteran Daniel Zaragoza. The two men would have a rematch around 13 months later as Zaragioza returned to Japan for a second bout the enigmatic "Jo" December 29th 1998-Central Gym, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (17-4-1, 12) Vs Veeraphol Sahaprom (20-1, 14) In late 1998 fans saw the popular Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] battle against Thailand's destructive Veeraphol Sahaprom [วีระพล นครหลวงโปรโมชั่น]. The bout was for the WBC Bantamweight title that Tatsuyoshi had won the previous year, claiming an upset win over Veeraphol's countryman Sirimongkol Singwancha, in what was a thrilling contest. December 21st 1996-The Aladdin, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (12-3-1,10) vs Fernando Alanis (11-3-3, 7) In December 1996 Japan's Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] took a visit to Las Vegas, where he fought Fernando Alanis, in what would be "Joe's" third and final bout in Las Vegas. December 15th 2002-Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (17-6-1, 12) vs Saen Sor Ploenchit (44-1, 14) In the late 1990's Japanese fans saw the hugely popular Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] lose back to back fights to the grest Veeraphol Sahaprom. In 2002, more than 3 years after the second bout with Sahaprom, fans saw "Jo" return against former world champion Saen Sor Ploenchit [แสน ส.เพลินจิต ], who was fighting well above his optimum weight. In his comeback bout Tatsuyoshi faced Mexican Jose Luis Vegagil. June 28th 1990-Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (2-0, 2) v Samuel Duran (21-4-1, 6) In 1990 Japan's Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] took a big step up as he took on future world title challenger Samuel Duran. The bout, Tatsuyoshi's third as a professional, was a marked step up and saw the then 20 year old take his first big test. September 19th 1991-City Gymnasium, Moriguchi, Osaka, Japan Joichiro Tatsuyoshi (6-0-1, 5) v Greg Richardson (29-4, 4) In just his 8th professional bout Japan's Joichiro Tatsuyoshi [辰吉丈一郎] fought in his first world title bout, a contest with the then WBC Bantamweight champion Greg Richardson. |
