December 1st 2017-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kosuke Saka (16-3, 13) vs Takenori Ohashi (14-4-2, 8) This past Friday fight fans at the Korakuen Hall saw Japanese Featherweight champion Kosuke Saka [坂晃典] battle against hard hitting challenger Takenori Ohashi [大橋健典] April 23rd 2017-Aioi Hall, Kariya, Aichi Shota Hayashi (29-5-1, 17) vs Kosuke Saka (15-3, 12) This past Sunday Japanese fans in Aichi saw Japanese Featherweight champion Shota Hayashi [林 翔太] taking on mandatory challenger Kosuke Saka [坂晃典] as part of the 2017 Champion Carnival April 4th 2015- L-Osaka, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Ryuto Kyoguchi (13-0-1, 9) Vs Kosuke Saka (9-3, 6) Good prospects in Japan do seem to be matched relatively well and one recent match up that wen were very interested in saw the unbeaten Ryuto Kyoguchi take on Kosuke Saka. The bout wasn't going to register on the international circuit but domestically it made for a brilliant match up and one that seemed certain to give us some real excitement. And if we're being honest it lived up to that expectation (Video courtesy of nov K) We know it can be hard for Western fans to really care about what happens on Japanese and Thai under-cards but sometimes it worth taking an interest because sometimes we do get great fights or get the chance to see a fighter take their opportunity to break though. Sadly this wasn't one of those cases though it did turn out to be a solid win for Kosuke Saka who we suspect we will be hearing a lot about in the future. The 22 year old Saka is a man with a misleading record and his performance against Tetsuya Nishinaga here suggests that the kid has got genuine potential even if there is a lot of improvements that he will have to make. He looks like an exciting battler who will fight his heart out every time he steps into the ring and like the type of fighter who will be in some really thrilling contests down the line, even if Nishinaga was unable to give him that type of a bout here.
