December 11th 2015-Central Gym, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Hozumi Hasegawa (34-5, 15) Vs Carlos Andres Ruiz Machuca (14-1, 5) For 5 years, 2005-2010, Hozumi Hasegawa was one of the Bantamweight stars and a key figure in Japanese boxing. His reign might not have attracted the attention of European or American fans but it was an impressive one with wins over Veeraphol Sahaprom, Simpiwe Vetyeka and Vusi Malinga being very notable. Sadly Hasegawa has fought on, well past his best, and at times has looked like a mere shadow of the fighter he once was. That was recently the case when he faced Mexican fighter Carlos Andres Ruiz Machuca. (Footage courtesy of nov K)
