June 20th 2021-Aioi Hall, Kariya, Aichi, Japan Shoya Fukada (0-0) vs Kiminobu Nakao (0-0) This past weekend in Aichi fans got the chance to see the debuting pair of Shoya Fukada [深田 翔也] and Kiminobu Nakao [中尾 公信] clash in a Central Japan Rookie of the Year Lightweight semi-final bout. June 20th 2021-Aioi Hall, Kariya, Aichi, Japan Keisuke Mori (0-1) vs Yuta Mizutani (0-0) This past weekend in a Central Japan Rookie if the Year semi final bout at Super Featherweight fans in Aichi saw the win-less Keisuke Mori [森 啓介] take on the debuting Yuta Mizutani [水谷 雄太] A huge thanks goes to sakana 1976 and to Seki-chan for this video and for making this entire show available and buying the broadcast rights to the show. One of those was at Bantamweight, where Kenta Sugawara [菅原 健太] clashed with Yamato Watanabe [渡辺 大和] in a tournament semi-final bout. May 25th 2002-Dajin High School, Seoul, South Korea Sung Kook Kim (6-1, 4) vs Kyung Chul Park (3-4, 1) In May 2002 Korean fight fans in Seoul saw Sung Kook Kim and Kyung Chul Park battle in a scheduled 10 rounder for the South Korean Bantamweight title. March 31st 2001-Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Naoto Takajo (14-0, 11) vs Allan Morre (22-29-4, 13) Back in 2001, at the very end of March, Japanese fight fans in Nagoya saw the unbeaten Naoto Takajo battle against experienced Filipino journeyman Allan Morre. May 30th 2003-Jangchung Gymnasium, Seoul, South Korea Yo Sam Choi (24-2, 13) vs Jae Ho Kim (5-2, 4) In July 2002 Yo Sam Choi [최요삼] lost the WBC Light Flyweight title to Mexican Jorge Arce. Almost 11 months later Choi returned to the ring for the first time and battle against fellow Korean Jae Ho Kim as Choi looked to shake some ring rust against a naturally bigger, though less experienced, foe. July 1st 2007-Goyang, South Korea Pan Soo Kim (0-0) vs Gyoo Ho Choi (0-0) In July 2007 Korean debutants Pan Soo Kim and Gyoo Ho Choi clashed in a scheduled 4 round bout at 140lbs. This is a blink and you miss it bout, that really doesn't last long at all. Interestingly in the years that followed Kim would go on to have 3 bouts for an OPBF title, though sadly for him lost all 3 of thoseregional title shots. May 19th 2007-Shinheung University, Uijeongbu City, South Korea Hee Jae Cho (8-2, 4) vs Fernando Otic (6-2, 6) In 2007 Korean fight fans in Uijeongbu City saw local teenage fighter Hee Jae Cho battle against Filipino youngster Fernando Otic in a bout for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth Super Featherweight title. Interestingly this appears to have been the first ever bout for this actual title. |
