March 27th 2021-Suamlum Night Bazaar, Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok, Thailand Tanes Ongjunta (7-1, 4) Vs Kompayak Porpramook (61-11, 41) Earlier today in Bangkok we saw once beaten Thai hopeful Tanes Ongjunta [จอมโว ก.ศักดิ์ลำพูน] battle against former world champion Kompayak Porpramook (61-12, 41), [คมพยัคฆ์ ทีซีมวยไทย], who now fights as Kompayak TC Muay Thai. On paper this was a huge step for Tanes, despite "only" being for the WBA Asia title, and it was expected to be a good tested against a true servant of Thai boxing. December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shin Ono (24-10-3, 6) vs Kento Yabusaki (7-4-1, 5) In December 2020 we saw former multi-time world title challenger Shin Ono [小野 心] take on 23 year old Kento Yabusaki [薮﨑 賢人]. On paper this seemed like a massive mismatch, despite the fact Ono was on the slide and the wrong side of 35. Despite his age he was still regarded as a very clear favourite against a youngster who had lost his previous 2 bouts and was 3-3 in his previous 6. Note - The opening bell is around 11 minutes into this video. December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Yuji Awata (12-7-1, 5) vs Toru Kiyota (9-4, 7) One of the best things about Japan is their domestic scene and the match ups we get that really have no relevance at all to the international boxing stage. The country makes domestic fights that matter and that are interesting, competitive and compelling. One great example came in December 2020 when Yuji Awata [粟田 祐之] and Toru Kiyota [清田 亨] clashed in a brilliant 8 rounder. This started slowly but saw the action pick up and saw both men end up on the canvas and blood being shed! Note - First bell is about 13:00 minutes into the video December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Keisuke Ota (10-12, 3) vs Shota Suito (11-11-1, 1) Last December at Korakuen Hall fight fans had an interesting looking 6 rounder between Keisuke Ota [太田 啓介] and Shota Suito [水藤 翔太]. Both men have poor looking records, though they faced off with both men believing they could pick up a win. When that happens we tend to get good bouts, and this was certainly a decent and well fought fight. Note - The opening bell for this is about 8 minutes into the contest December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Yoshiki Yamashita (6-3) vs Yoshimitsu Kushibe (7-7-2, 1) In December 2020 fight fans at Korakuen Hall got a very entertaining 6 rounder as Yoshiki Yamashita [山下 祥希] clashed with Yoshimitsu Kushibe [櫛部 好充]. On paper this one didn't look great but the bout was matched up well, and the two guys both came to fight. The skill level wasn't the best, but with both men believing they could win they gave us a very solid and competitive contest. Note - The opening bell is around 9:00 into this video December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shoma Okada (4-2, 2) vs Hisashi Kato (9-9-2, 5) In December 2020 Shoma Okada [岡田 翔真] clashed with Hisashi Kato [加藤 寿] in a bout that looked like a mismatch on paper. Underneath the records however were men going in different directions with their careers. Okada had started his career 4-0 but had lost back to back bouts coming in to this one whilst Kato been matched incredibly hard early in his career, before scoring back to back wins in 2019, to give him some momentum heading into this one. Note - First bell is about 7 minutes into the video December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Takeshi Wako (1-0-1) vs Yasutaka Takemura (1-0-1) In December on "The Greatest Boxing 36" fight fans at Korakuen Hall had the chance to end an unexpected fire cracker as Takeshi Wako [和光 武] and Yasutaka Takemura [竹村 康孝] faced off in a 4 rounder. These two guys aren't big names, by any stretch, but they managed to put on a pretty exciting and high intensity match up that is well worthy of a watch. Note - The opening bell for this bout is about 5:50 into the video. December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Yusuke Endo (2-2-1, 2) vs Takahiro Nakatsuka (2-2-1) Last December at Korakuen Hall fight fans got an unexpected treat as Yusuke Endo [遠藤 裕介] and Takahiro Nakatsuka [中塚 貴大] put on a thrilling 4 rounder at around the Super Featherweight limit. Whilst neither man is set to become a world champion they matched up perfectly here to give us something truly fantastic! Note - First bell is about 6:30 minutes into the video December 8th 2020-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Ryusei Sasanoike (0-0) Vs Masato Ichino (0-0) In December 2020 fight fans at Korakuen Hall for the Hideki Todaka promoted "The Greatest Boxing" saw an all debutant bout to kick the show off, with teenager Ryusei Sasanoike [笹之池 流星] clashing with Masato Ichino [市野 正人].
